This Tibetan highland beer is our first brew. We started making i t
i n 2009 with local highland barley. The result is a beer with a
slightly sweet, malty and caramel aroma with a golden color and
a marvelous white crest.
Story: In the Tibetan language Son Gha means t o go forward.
Tibetan people love horse racing and the annual horse racing
festival is the largest Tibetan festival. Horse racing culture also
includes a celebration of the hero King Gesar who is a role model
for every Tibetan. He explored the territory, defended it against
foreign enemies, set up the Ridge State, and for thousands o f
years, has been the subject of praise. As the Tibetan legend goes,
when King Gesar was young, he was crowned king through horse
racing when he won the right t o marry the Princess Zhumu. Horse
racing has been passed down through the generations, and Son
Gha represents the determination t o win at horse racing. A young
Tibetan boy won the race, and triumphantly, he holds his horse
and feels as though he were King Gesar. Friends come from
faraway places to offer him congratulations, while laughter and
the sound o f prancing horses can be heard across the prairies.
